Help needed on using an imported US PS2. Connecting to TV.

Sorry about this guys, but I haven't imported a console since the SNES days and feel I am somewhat behind.

OK so I want to buy a US PS2 from NCSX. I understand the need for a stepdown and all that malarkey. The main thing that is confusing me is how to use a SCART cable with it. Now I know that my telly is capable of outputting a 60Hz signal, as it does this with a DC fine. With my PAL PS2 I need to use an RGB SCART cable for 60Hz mode, as with the wanky cable that comes with it the picture is black and white.

The way I understand it is that the PAL PS2 outputs in pure NTSC, whereas the DC outputs in PAL60.

OK so basically what kind of cable would I have to buy to connect a US PS2 to my telly?

Thanks in advance, and I hope this isn't too much trouble.

Use an RGB SCART cable - change "Component Output" to RGB in the menu.

Any rgb scart lead will do. But you should get a top of the range scart lead, just because of the difference in picture quality.

      Heres one http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/...uctCode=PT0169

But i dont use that one, i use this one http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/...uctCode=PT0790

Sure it might be a bit more expensive, but the picture quality is superb.

So the RGB cable will just plug directly into the PS2 with no further modification?

          Nice one!

          Cheers people.

Not on a US PS2. I mentioned this because I get emails from people who havent done so and get a green image.

Yep, when I first got my US PS2 I panicked cos the screen was snot coloured.

              Soon figured it out though.
