Nights Into Dreams - Saturn question

Howdy - is the analogue controller absolutely necessary? By that I mean, is the game noticeably more crappy without it?

Also - is Christmas Nights a different game, or more of a mission pack?

And - are there any other games utilise the pad?

Not a must but enhances the game.

Different game I believe - although a cut down version wth a seasonal theme

Yes, the only ones I know off the top of my head are Soukyugurentai, Battle Garegga and House of the Dead - I only know of those because I own them - I'm sure there are more though.

It's almost unplayable without the analogue. The game is entirely about making slight, smooth movements or grand sweeps, with precision. Useless and pointless without the dedicated peripheral.

Christmas NiGHTS is like a one-level demo, although that level doesn't exist in the main game, and it contains secrets that aren't in the main game either. Cute, fun and worth it at a cheap price.

The 3D pad can be used for a few, I think. It certainly works exceptionally well in Panzer Dragoon Saga and Quake, I remember.

Cheers fellas - the US version with analogue pad can be had quite cheaply, so I tink I'll go for it

I would say that the 3D Pad is an essential element to nights.

Plus I can make this promiss that once you have one it will be your pad of choice for nearly all games (Over the standard Euro pad). In digital mode the D Pad is much better than the euro pad and most games which could benefit from Analogue control support the pad. It is an essential for Sega Rally, Daytona (Analogue triggers really bring the driving games to life) and the games mentioned by treb above.

I've only played NiGHTS twice (after getting it cheap on evilbay) - I really have no idea what the hell is going on!

Some of the later Sega racers support the analog pad too. Sega Rally *might* be one of them.

I'll second the sentiments here, the analog pad makes nights much more enjoyable.

Sega Rally Plus supports the analogue (as well as the link-up feature).

If you want to get to know NiGHTS, have a look at an FAQ. If it's till bewildering, come to poppa Treb, and I'll sort you out with some info
