Just bought the midnight blue bb ps2 pack from yes asia, and was wondering if anyone else had one?

Basically i wondering if anyone has figured otu all the options that are on the menu's for the bb software?

Its not too complicated. If the network options are like Mojibribon you choose a setting then press left to advance to the next one. Socom II has the same setup tool in English (seems to be the latest version of SCEJ's network setup/DNAS client in one).

The options are something like this, in order:

PPPoE or DHCP or manual IP address
provided DNS or manual DNS
network profile name

All the network setup tool does is create a network connection profile file on your memory card, so you should be able to create the same sort of network profile with an English language game then use that to connect with Japanese software.

Not sure how this all fits in with the hdisk though, presumably its possible to save the network profile to the hdisk too, which I imagine most English language games wouldn't understand.

Be aware that DNAS will prevent you from going online with recent non-Japanese games. The game and machine region must match.
