About to smash my Passport III into oblivion..

I just modded my new NTSC N64 for RGB (cheers to Saurian for the diagrams that are floating around), but now I'm having a few problems with the Passport III that I've got to go with it. Basically, of all the PAL games I have, the only ones I can get to work are Mario 64 and Goldeneye since they're built in. I've tried various boot codes to get the others to work with no luck. To be honest, I'm not even sure if I'm doing it right since sometimes the codes seem to have disappeared when I go to look at them again, even after saving them.

Should I just flog all my games and buy the US versions?

If anyone can suggest where I might be going wrong, I'd be grateful.

    Cheers

hope you get your games workin cus im waitin on a ntsc n64 to arrive so it can be rgb modded and have ordered a passport 3 to play my pal games in rgb.
    p.s,
do pal games play in 60hz no borders on a ntsc console (e.g goldeneye)
    thanks

Mario 64 still has borders, so I don't think it changes that. Goldeneye doesn't have borders so I'm assuming the PAL version was optimised (too long since I played it to remember).

Just remembered the other thing I wanted to ask.. Is it possible to use the power supply from a UK machine on the US one? I remember reading that you could but thought I'd better check before I go and blow it up.

Some boot games dont work very well with a passport 3 (i.e. the NTSC game you stick in the back to get the PAL game to work). The likes of Mario 64 and earlier titles are fine, but if you are using a later title it might be causing problems. It is unlikely this is your problem but it may be.

I have been told you can use a UK PSU with the console, but I have never tried it myself.

Neither points are much help really, sorry about that.

A UK psu works fine with an NTSC N64, just like you can interchange gamecube psu's. I think you're actually putting the codes in wrongly, I remember myself having some problems with that. My N64 isn't at hand but I think you've got to go a 'level' deeper to enter and save the codes. Sorry that I can't be more specific but my memory is not too clear on this part.

Looks like I managed to figure out how to put the codes in properly since I managed to get OOT working. Must just not have the right codes then.. Considering this thing must be used quite a lot, I was pretty surprised there wasn't a document of all the codes around somewhere.

to be honest, you should sell your Pal games for the superior NTSC versions. it saves all the passport 3 nonsence and the games are 100% full-screen, full speed.

              thats what i did anyway

Here's a link to a list of all the codes for the passport III.

                hope that helps

I found that page before, none of them seem to work with most of my games.. Oh well, I've started the process of buying all the NTSC versions.. It'll be better in the long run anyway I guess.

                  Cheers for trying to help

I'm trying to get a PAL Pokemon Snap to run on my JP N64 but it doesn't seem to work (with my Passport Plus III. Anyone got any ideas?
                    Also the instructions
*Those code that shown above, you should enter them in your passport plus. When you can't find the game name (which you want to run) in passport plus game code list, then you should try those code that shown above. If it still not running then you can try combine use the "1080"(/"Yoshi") code with the "all Pal(/"NTSC") games" code.
Do they mean the 1080 'or' the Yoshi code?
And what does that second code for 1080 "81100A5A 0000" mean, that's too small for a boot code not?
And the "For Passport Plus III NO.9801 only:" section, how do I find out if it's a NO.9801 Passport Plus III?

                    EDIT:
And what happens if you use multiple boot codes (from different games)???

                      Off topic a little...

What is the Passport III and how does it work?

                          LOL, I wrote that FAQ

The main advice I can give is to cross your fingers because I'd put the Passport somewhere below the Xbox 360 in terms of reliability. Other than that, use the most recent first-party game you have (major releases from Nintendo or Rare are the best) as the boot cart, and the best codes are probably Yoshi's Story and Diddy Kong Racing.

Even with that advice it's a bit hit and miss, so try combinations and hope you get lucky.

What happens if you select multiple boot codes? It just picks the first one in alphabatical order or something??
And what in blazes is "Passport Plus III NO.9801" ?!

Just bin the piece of crap & just buy a ntsc N64 they can be picked up for almost peanuts nowdays. Really not worth struggling with adapters nowdays.
