I need a RGB cable for the Argos splitter-advice?

I'm buying the famous ?9.75 splitter:

(Is that it?). It comes with no scart cable obviously. I need one which can carry RGB pictures, or do all carry RGB pictures? If there's a decent one on Argos.co.uk itself that would be great. I just don't want a loss in picture quality.

I just bought 2 of these and 2 JVC gold plated scart to scart leads.
I now have the easy option of pressing a button for the console i want, but interference lines through the picture.
You have to decide which you prefer i s'pose.

I have to decide between this scart box and what? I don't know why you live with interference lines I have one JVC gold plated scart lead, and a JVC TV. I found that the gold scart lead had a poorer picture than the normal RGB lead that came with my Sky box.

Everyone else seems to think this scart box is great-it was a case of finding a cheap RGB lead (if I even need one, or do normal scart to scarts carry RGB signals-I need to connect my RGB panasonic Q and RGB Sky to one RGB socket) before you said the box has a few problems.

      Help!

The 12.99 gold plated Hitachi cables from Argos are definitely full RGB. I have no interference when using one with any of my consoles (or switchboxes).

Ease of use or pony picture.
          In my case anyway.

Seems so mate. I've had 3 boxes and used countless TV's without any probs myself. Same goes for most other peeps.

Perhaps you have a defective unit? I'm a picky twat re: image on my TV so I reckon I'd notice any wavy lines.

I used to get interference lines through the Argos switchbox (and Hitachi RGB cables)

The problem was my VCR and poor shielding between scart sockets. Try switching off your VCR when you're using an RGB console/DVD player etc. That worked for me

Same goes for me. That Argos box is ****. The Gamecube through it looks like Composite (yes i have pressed the RGB button duh) with wavy lines and nasty cross hatching. The only console which has even a passable picture through it is the Dreamcast. In my experience all of these cheap RGB boxes are complete crap. Just have to live with one SCART socket instead, always chopping and changing ft:

I'm using well shielded IXOS interconnects and have no other equipment (no VCRs, No Digi boxes etc) except for consoles.

Anyway, even if it did work i cant believe that using a ten quid 3 socket pass through wont affect picture quality.

Are you sure you don't have any of the recode buttons pushed down?

                    Cheers Kirby.
I thought as much, as my friend has a ?60 version from Lektropacks and he has no loss in quality, and the same for my consoles, where the DC has the best picture, thru to the X-Box which is shocking. For some reason though the Q is improved although i only have it wired using the regular composite cable that came with it,as am waiting for an RGB lead for it.
But i have been swopping over for so long i live in fear of my socket getting f***ed (ooh matron!) so i have to live with it until i get the ?60 'un, and i need two of them!

You have to make sure both the redirect buttons are in the up position, but since pressing one makes the other pop up, you have to kinda press one down a tiny bit until the other pops up without the one you are pressing going all the way in.
I use the argos box with some ****ty scart cable and it gives a perfect picture with no interference. If you still have problems after trying the above then you are getting interference from another device or you splitter is defective. Replace it and be happier.

Meanwhile back on topic, the hitachi ?13 ones on argos will do fine.

                            Charles,
Do you think it could be anything to do with my digital TV.
Since going thru the splitter i can now hear the TV when AV1 is selected on screen.
                            All very strange.
