I have no idea what you mean by "a picture of the layout".

Whatever, if you are planning to build your own controller, then you could do worse than read some of the stuff here:

I've yet to look through the website above properly, but I'm using

        Catch22's website:

as a basis for the stick I'm starting work on this weekend.

There is a six button template. Maybe you could extend it and add the two extra buttons.

Its shown the wrong way round (stick on left, buttons right) as its meant to be mounted on the underside of a piece of perspex so just flip it over if need be.

I used a straight across 8 button layout for my arcade stick.

The centre of the button holes is exactly 1.5 inches apart.

The link below will take you to some pictures of it (not very good quality I'm afraid)

A very good layout is the one used by John Tam on modeverything.com

Go to 'custom sticks' and scroll down to the very bottom. This layout is the best for fighting games. Lets you use a 5 button arc for Guilty Gear, 6 button straight for Capcom games and a 3 or 4 button layout for VF4Evo and Neo Geo games.

If you use standard arcade buttons that have a 28mm mounting hole, simply place the centre of each hole exaclty 1.5 inches apart and you can't go wrong. Any less than that and you may have problems if you're using MDF.

            cool-cool.
            thanks for everyone's reply.
i've seen that six-button layout before, yeah i might try following that, but this arched one is interesting, and may other idea is to simply have a two neo geo layouts on top of each other, 'cos i'll mostly be playing mvs and capcom stuff, should have said that earlier.

oh, your supergun is nice, is that vga-out as well as s-video? what did you use for a an rgb convertor? i'm just gonna wire everything into a scart socket.
i'll be using sanwa 30mm buttons for mine, but 1/4 inch apart does look like a good distance, i'll adjust accordisngly, by the way, if anyone wants some sanwa buttons, i have soem spare.

My supergun outputs RGB only, not SVideo or or VGA. I made a cable that goes from a scart plug to the 9 pin D plug. I couldn't find an enclosure mounted scart socket so I had to use a D connector. I intend to use a 15 pin connector next time so that I can fit a better RGB cable (fully screened and shielded) inside the connector hood.

It was primarily designed for MVS and it works spot on. The arcade stick is wired for both Playstation and MVS.

Feel free to PM me if you have any queries etc.
