Anybody got one of these VGA boxes? Any comments

I found these on eBay and they are cheaper than the Logic 3 one and look better. Just wondering if anyone has any comment as to the image quality or build quality?

    STAY AWAY FROM IT!!!!

i am warning you, i had one of this and it is ****e as hell. depending on what console you have, you can get some nice VGA box. for the Xbox you can get one from Digital-X and KGasper. for the Cube, there are some hacked VGA cables out there. but for the PS2, i am not aware of any.

main point though, dont buy this VGA box, you'll regret it.

Those will give poor picture quality as it's just composite (scabtastic) or s-video in, sadly. To get proper VGA for a monitor you'll be needing component or RGB(?) inputs.

At this point in time... are there any good VGA boxes out for PS2?
        Thanks for any info!

I only have experience with the official VGA box on Dreamcast, which works great.

that is because the official vga box tells the DC to output VGA, it doesnt convert the signal from composite/S-vid/component/rgb to vga.

It may be worth downloading an app called powerstrip, and setting the resolution to 720x480 interlaced, if you monitor can handle this then, you would be better getting a component to RGBhv trancoder.
then you can convert the component out of the ps2 to RGB with the Horizontal and Vertical sync you need for your monitor.
This will give you an image within 1% of colour accuracy, dont waste you money on cheap upscan converters they will be **** at best.
Plus if you go this route you will be able to play any progressive games properly too. And you will be able to use a gamecube, xbox etc. on it too.

Copperbox.com are doing the key digital one at $69 as there is a new version out that allows you to pass through a second vga input.

this is an awsome bit of kit, I have the more expensive one that can handle 1080i but reading the specs of this it seems to do that as well ??

              here is the link

Think shipping was around $30 insured when I ordered and it arrived in 2 days, so you would have one of the best transcoders available for about ?60.
