    PS2 VGA Lead Help

My mate wants to know if he can connect his PS2 to a PC monitor. If he can what lead does he need? Thank you.

Expensive option: The PS2 doesn't output VGA (the DC had VGA, 4 controller ports and modem - makes me maaaad! Oh, the humanity!!! )
If you can find an official Sony D-terminal cable SCPH-10330 (which I think come with the Japanese linux kits), you can use one of these to display a decent vga image (uses the component output from the PS2 I believe).
I somehow doubt this was the answer you were looking for.

Cheaper option: see Chad's post below.

Also see here for some excellent info posted by Papercut on all VGA stuff.

I think this would be more suitable if all he wants to do is connect to his monitor!

          Probably, yes

From what I can gather the device plugs straight into the normal video output on the PS2 and fiddles a component signal into some VGA derivative. You have to supply your own monitor cable though.

            Voici:

EDIT, on the contents list it says "VGA cable x1" and yet on the diagram it says "Sold separately"

I don't know what my mate will make of it though
