    Sega Saturn Nights Controller Q

Was this controller released in the original grey colour of the Japanese Saturn. Everywhere that sells them only seems to have white ones available. Is white the only colour available in Japan?

    Thanks

    Dunno,

I have a white one (JAP) and a black one (UK). I prefer the look of the white one to be honest. Never seen a grey one.

Just white or black. The white Saturn was out by the time NiGHTS was released.

        Nice one Kubrick.

        Probably go for white then.

        Thanks for both replies

Just thought id use this thread to ask, what is the reason for the cord to be unclipped? Was something else meant to go between the cord and the pad at some future point?

Yeah, I think I remember Sega Saturn Magazine saying that's what the idea was.

You can also do it with an Xbox pad...dunno why though?

Its incase you get tangled in the cord it just breaks away instead of pulling the console off the shelf.
Imagine an X-Box landing on your foot!

That's what I guessed at with the XBox. And if it wasn't the reason then it sure as hell makes for an excellent secondary use ;-) Of course that's the trouble with cables ... now where the hell did I leave my Wavebird?...

Yeah but the saturn one isn't designed as a safety feature it clips securely to the controller.

I can't think of any reason for this at all.

maybe they were hoping to sell the Dreamcast and Saturn simultaneously, with the same controllers using interchangable cables.

                    thats what I've always thought.
