    Graphics Card Problems

Got a new graphics card today. Geforce FX PCI 5200.

I install the drivers fine, regardless of the monitor plugged into the card or the onboard sound.

So drivers installed, all ready to go. PC starts, Windows XP loading screen. Just about to load onto the Log In Screen and then blank. Nothing happens, blank or black screen. Anyone able to help?

    Thanks.

Start in safe mode, install a different driver.

Download the latest driver from nvidia and then use that whilst in safe mode.

          Uninstall all video drivers.
          Reboot.
While in default vga mode make sure your monitor is identified correctly and is running at 60 hz.

Install latest NV driver from their website.

Done all that, its just loading.

I went to VGA mode, then changed all settings to my normal ones, and it works fine. It just won't load the log in screen on normal?

              Installed the new nVidia drivers?

I wouldn't trust drivers off a CD from a 3rd-party manufacturer. They like to add in their own stuff that usually b0rks it.
