Help me with GT4: Prologue!

I'm stuck on this game. On the last licence test prior to the final coffee break challenge what are you supposed to do? I keep on getting disqualified after finishing the course depite my time being fast enough to get at least a bronze and I don't know why.

EDIT: Did it! Not sure how as I seemingly didn't do much different to what I had been doing before

On the first page, or second? I don't remember the test, you'll have to elaborate (car, opponents) You've done it though, just wanted to put your mind at rest

If it's the second page of tests, I think you're driving the electric Prius? You need to get >10 on the electrical mpg (well, whatever it is on electric cars). Not accelerating means +power, so you get more miles out of it (the little petrol pump meter, along the bottom right).

And what a crap test. Let's hope there's none of this fuel economy ****e in the full game

I hope not. Although I must admit to having thoroughly enjoyed most of the purple tests.
