Rolling Out M$ patches over the network...

I've just been put onto a programme at work to roll out M$ O/S updates across our multiple networks.

    Here's our network topology:

Main site (with whatever hardware is needed for this), then multiple sites across the county which do not have administrators. Each site has a Win2k server and multiple Win2k/Xp workstations. Each site is connected in a private network via 2Mbit links.

I've looked at SUS and SMS, but these appear to have to have a manager at each network. Anyone know of a way using a repository method, so I can fetch them automatically over our network?

From your recent posts, it's starting to sound like you're increasingly in need of some level of Enterprise Management. Specifically, you're after a Software Delivery solution, which does exactly what you describe.

Ah, I see the Commander has beaten me to it. Never mind...

Seriously though Boog, if you want to know more then drop me a PM with some basic info, contact details and I'll get someone to follow up with you, explain about the stuff we have to offer and allsorts The above link may look a little daunting, but the software is very flexible along with our licensing and price structure. I believe bespoke solutions are a possibilty too 8)
