Final Fantasy XI

This is coming out on March 23rd I believe, Tronix have it for $100 US with the hard drive. I have a couple of questions:

I have a pal messiah 2 ps2. Would this be compatible with the US hard drive and game or is this an unknown at present?

Obviously I will need a network adaptor too... Can I just get one here or would it need to be the same region as the Hard drive/ game? (im thinking it doesnt matter)

Apparently the game detects the region of your PS2 AND your E2 adapter, so (from what I've heard) your shagged unless you have a US machine and adapter. Even if your machine is modded...

I'm hoping it is, there's no way I can afford a PC until next year nor a US PS2...
