    Plasma TV questions

Ok since a few members on here have plasma teles and seem to know what there are talking about i need recomendations fo ra new plasma tele

    first the basics

i have a PAL chipped xbox whats the best thing i can use to connect it to the tv
I've heard loads about HDTV support in games but if i'm honest i only have the most basic of understandings on what it is and what games support it
What are the mains thing i should be looking for in a plasma?
only have Sky digital as my TV channels rather than an analouge signal.

    I have ?2200-2300 to spend

Any help or recommendations would help greatly.....

Correct me if I am wrong (I usually am) but doesnt the PAL XB have no Pro-Scan output meaning no games in any of the lovely progressive scan modes available to NTSC consoles?

If you want to connect your Xbox to a plasma TV you will be wanting to use Component cables.

Most XB games I play support 480p, and the occasional one like Soul Calibur 2 supports 720p mode.

once the xbox is chipped, u can select prog scan if playing ntsc games and they support it.

richer sounds have a nice hitachi 42inch plasma that does prog scan for ?2200 and there 3 year warranty is a bargain too, just an extra ?199, only draw back is you dont get a tuner box with it.

Shop TV, hi-fi, home cinema and more at Richer Sounds. We offer expert advice and lowest prices guaranteed. Visit us in store or shop online now.

ignore that it dont do prog scan, still damn good price though imo

            Thanks for all the advice,

i'm thinking of going with a toshiba 36" crt (cant remember the name off hand but does have prog scan) and use the rest of the money for a trip to japan.

heh probably end up spending more money but i get to go to japan!
