Where can I find the best arcade stick for the PS2?

The best arcade stick for 2D-fighters!
I have no idea what sticks are good or bad so...help me

Soul Calibur 2 stick. 6 buttons, excellent stick, well-respected company, extremely durable, and all you need for 2D.

The Namco stick is better. It's got all the buttons as well. Harder to find, though

Yeah, I didn't say that simply because it's rare as ****. The SC2 stick is pretty easy to get hold of and with the dollar as low as it is now, it's not that hard on the wallet either.

Out of all the sticks I've used, I'd have to agree with the SC2 stick comments. The Namco one is alright, but the stick didn't feel right, the buttons were fine.

The VF4 Evo sticks don't seem to hold up well in the long term.

          You could always build one?

Hmmm im not too sure which stick your talking about. If your talking about the nuby stick, i think that stick sucks balls its just not accurate or quick enough for me and i primarily used it for GGXX. I just didn't think it had the reflexes for quick moves to link in combos, it was a huge pain in the arse i found the d-pad more accurate and quick. Im still looking out for a good one, but at the moment i have other things that i want first.

The old Namco stick is OK - I still have a few of them and have served me well but the new style Hori Soul Calibur 2 sticks are just wicked. They look really nice, the buttons are very light and responsive and the stick is excellent straight out of the box.

I got an Evo stick aswell - I've had to replace the buttons as they wore out quickly (and I'm very light on the controls), but the stick is superb regardless.

Unfortunately, the page you are looking for could not be found or no longer exists. Please use the helpful links on the page, the site navigation, or the search bar to continue browsing the GameStop website.

                    STAY WELL AWAY!

Hori and ASCii's designs are far superior, the makers of those other awful sticks like that rubbish linked to need to realise that having the stick a mile from the buttons is uncomfortable and it's not necessary to control beat em ups with a gear stick Games like GGX require execution accurate to a frame ffs.

                      OOof, that stick looks evil.

The SC2 one is fantastic, can't go wrong with it.

i didn't know that when i bought it because i read nothing but good reviews. but as soon as i first used it i hated the piece of trash and sold it on ebay.

I want a stick that i can use on my ps2 and xbox (which also has comms support for live), anyone have any recommendations?

Get yourself the Hori SC2 stick we have mentioned + a convertor so you can use it on the Xbox.

There is a Hori stick specific for the Xbox but it pales in comparison to the Soul Calibur one.

Convertors and sticks can be found at www.lik-sang.com and www.playasia.com - not certain which convertor to use exactly but I remember people saying the MagicBox convertor allows Hori sticks on the Xbox.

Edit: confirmed that the MagicBox convertor works with the SC2 stick:

The current version of the PC Magicbox works fine with the DC stick as well; do you know if the XBox one can work with the DC stick?

Personally I prefer my SVC Chaos stick (by Sammy). I think which arcade stick is 'the best' tends to come from whatever feels more comfortable to you. I've got mates who swear by certain cheapo sticks, just because they find them more comfy.
