    Netgear/blueyonder question

    Hi there,

I'm signed up to blueyonder and i'm using wireless netgear hardware to connect. Now i've got hold of another wireless connector today to use with our other computer so that both computers can access the net.

I've set it up, and i can access the net on both computers, but strangely, not at the same time....

    any ideas?

    cheers

Wireless access point connected to cable modem or router with built in wireless access point connected to cable modem?

That's the first thing that comes to mind.

Well if it's just a wireless access point connected to a modem there's your problem mate...

To connect more than 1 computer to a modem like that you need a device that manages the routing of information between the two computers and the internet.

The wireless access point just acts like a hub with no cables and isn't smart enough to do anything else on its own.

In short you need a router, often referred to as a NAT router to allow more than 1 PC to share the same external IP address.
