    NTL broadband connection share

I'll be more than happy if someone can answer this for me.

    This is my motheboard: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...html?MBB-XP20U

This is a new pc I'll be buying:
Buy a desktop PC or build your own Custom PC from Novatech; visit the site today and build your dream Gaming PC or PC for the office.

You'll notice my mobo says 'lan port' and the pc says RJ45 network port. I reckon (but i'm not sure) that I can connect these two with an RJ45 crossover cable and then 'share connection' (we will both have XP, so that should work)
My NTL is a cable modem, and is connected to my pc via USB.
The other option would be a router (or a hub?) but i'm not sure how that works and what I would need to get/set it up etc.

    Any advice/pointers?

    Thanks!

Should work, we did it at university even though NTL will insist that you can't do it that way. Could they be trying to sell you more connections

Solved it! Plugeed them both together with an RJ45 crossover network cable. Clicked on Internet connection, selected 'share connection' and... after some struggling with my firewall we are now both online (yesterday I was online playing Fnial Fantasy 11 while she was downloading trailers off apple.com
