    Meh @ DVDBO

I think my patience with DVDBO's delivery times has finally worn out. I am used to waiting sometimes upto 12 days for a delivery once it's shipped, and the time issue isnt such a problem. This time tho, my mates copy (who, bear in mind live about 1 mile from me, and falls under the same royal mail sorting office) of FF:CC was shipped within an hour of mine, he got his copy last Friday, a week later mine still hasnt arrived.

I sent an e-mail to DVDBO and said "look, im kinda worried about this
(explained the circumstances involvling my mate) can you look into it please?" Now I was expecting they would come back and say "yea, after 21 days" but no, they actually said they wont start looking into it until 8 weeks have passed since it was shipped! 8 WEEKS FFS!.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I am done with DVDBO now. Does anyone know of a similar company price-wise that does cheap/free UK shipping where you dont get hammered with import duty?

If it helps with suggestions, I dont have a CC, and neither do I want one.

    TIA

Very cheap postage, will mark down and generally very good. The site looks **** but this guy is reliable, he trades on eBay as Fiocco.

Postage is more but I've found them to be the most reliable site of all.
Some excellent prices, especially on GBA games. Will mark down and excellent customer service.

As for DVDBox I faced a similar situation to you and stopped using them a while ago. They're ****, TBH. I think both offer the same payment options as DVD Box but I'm not certain as I always use the same Visa card.

I can't help with your problem, but can tell you that 8 weeks is the standard time for missing international shipments are classed as lost. It sucks, but it's true

I'd recommend videogamesplus as well, they do charge your credit card in advance though (might be wrong on this, never really look at my credit card statements throughly enough ).

DVDSoon are also good for cheap games/DVDs.

I used http://www.therage.com for the first time recently, and was pleased- they marked the parcel (2 games) as a gift without asking, and delivery was about a week.

I have purchased quite a few 2nd hand games from VideoGames Plus and all have been in the condition they were described in on the site.
Free postage for pre-owned games too.

that was one of the reasons i brought FF:CC from them as it was cheaper than buying it off the forums and with free delivery it's just that much more of a baregin , do they still use the same delivery method or is it a cheaper one?

They use the normal postage method, airmail.
                  Will take around 5 days.
Out of interest how much did FF cost you?

DVDsoon are as cheap as BO and offer better shipping.

My R:racing was cheaper and came within 10 days.

I'm a bit ****ed off with DVDBO to be honest.

Ordered the Monkeyball figurines and got a shipping notification for both sets in early January and my card charged.

They say they shipped it but I got an email notfying me that the thing was no longer obtainable and my money would be refunded. They lied basically.

To top it all off, the refund was about ?2 less than the original amount I paid due to exchange differences. ft:

I'm not going to give them anymore of my business.

                          Ha ha Mr Ono.
That exact same situation happened to me, only I ordered in December, a full month before you. Unlike you I got pissed of the wait and started mailing them in late January, only last week did I get my money back.

Hence the reason why I don't use them anymore.
No idea why they changed their policy of not charging until it's shipped for these items though, it's strange.

Lies and under-refunds are par for the course with DVD Box Office. Consider yourself lucky you got off that lightly - I got stiffed for the currency conversion twice when they double-charged me for a PS2 (back when they actually cost real money). They lied to me beforehand (claimed it was impossible for them to charge my credit card because I hadn't supplied them with some documents that don't exist), they lied to me during (claimed the refund would show as a cancellation of the full amount, whereas it didn't), they lied to me afterwards (claimed that they had refunded my account when they hadn't - and didn't until I followed up). I never got the full refund, and it took me an age (and a series of threats to contact their ISP to complain about spamming) to get off their mailing list. Against that, they lost not only my custom, but that of a number of people I've advised against shopping with them since.

videogamesplus.ca, on the other hand, have been wonderful to deal with. Extremely prompt shipping, none of the red tape DVDBO hit me with when I first ordered from them (incurring more expense, of course), and they haven't once lied to me or stolen from me.

Which shouldn't be seen as a positive point (more as something that's expected as standard) but given the nature of the competition, I suppose it has to be mentioned.
