Yes, any region card will work. You can also share JP/US/PAL saves on the same card unlike the Gamecube.

yeah, gcn memory cards are language formatted rather than region encoded.

As ppl have said, PS2 mem cards are totally regionless. They will work on any region PS2 and hold any region game saves, including a mixture of jpn/us/pal saves.

thanks, he's only got a pal ps2 so doesn't matter about the fact they can hold anyregion saves on it.
                  thanks again

Can PS2 memory cards be re-formatted? (wiped clean?)

                      I think mine is buggered...

I get asked to create a new file every time I load WE7 International. This is despite me already having creating a file the last time I played it, and saving before I switch off.

Plus, every time I do create a new file, the 700-odd kb required disappears from the card's capacity and there's nothing to show for it in the memory manager I've lost over 2MB of the card's capacity already!

Is there no option in the PS2s memory card options? (system boot menu)
Is it a cheapo 3rd party card?

Look for a homebrew memory card manager on the net if your PS2 is chipped. If you have no luck sorting it, and would like it formatting, send it to me and I'll do it.

Well, there's the option to erase stuff from the card individually by selecting the icons, but the problem is that these "missing" WE7 files don't leave an icon in the memory manager for you to select

The card is an official Sony one and was only bought a couple of months ago. I think it's an "Asian" one if I recall.

This is the 2nd time this has happened, so I assume the card is dodgy.

I remember reading something a about this being a "known problem".

Basically, for some reason best known to themselves Sony left a "format card" option out of the PS2 so that when cards get corrupted you have to throw them away. Perhaps you can format them with a PC card reader or, as someone suggested, some kind of utility disc if your PS2 could boot a CD-R. I'm pretty sure there's no other way.

I had one of the first Japanese cards that the data on it corrupted usually shows a purple square n says corrupt data or something. If it's doing this bin it. N get a new one
