    Re-installing XP without clearing pr0n+MP3s...

    Hi guys,

My business partners PC has this right crappy bug attached to Internet Explorer. It won't open up anymore, it just crashes out as soon as it's opened. I've tried re-installing IE and it still does the same.

We need to know how to re-install XP without clearing everything on the HD with the exception of program files etc. I'd rather attempt it myself before calling out some c**t for ?80 an hour.

All help is much appreciated - I haven't attempted a re-install since win95. We have all the discs here...

Back up the files and reinstall it again...

Or you could try doing a system repair.

Apart from that, if they are on the same partition you're ****ed. :\

Aye! If you have ?5k to buy yourself in with. We need a systems d00d.

You could even have next door doing your accounts for free.

Can you rename the "Windows" folder, reinstall it then once you have the files you want delete the old windows folder? Ive not tried this myself mind.

                Just reinstall over the top.

Choose repair, when you get to the options and it will overwrite windows and keep all your apps and files etc.

Don't think so, I just reinstalled over the top of my daughters XP as there were more thana few problems and everything is still there.

Make a copy of the folder and bung it on the c:\ drive just in case.
