I was looking for a PC that would basically sit on my Internet Connection 24/7, and share across my network. I looked at various sites, and was offered base units from friends, but in the end I went for this - http://web6.scan.co.uk/Products/Info.asp?WPID=62006 - a barebones system from Scan.
I recieved everything today, and have now built the PC which took about 30 minutes and first impressions are very positive. The case looks lovely, silver with a thin blue light down the middle, and is solid and well built. Things are housed tightly of course, and importantly it is very quiet seeing as it will be on in my room the whole time. I already had a spare 8GB HD for it (I knew that Xbox drive would come in handy one day!), DVD-ROM and Keyboard & Mouse, and I purchased an Intel P4 2.8GHZ CPU, 256 DDR memory and the base unit itself, and after delivery it came to just under ?250. I dont need a monitor, as I will be using Remote Desktop to view it if need be, whilst the VGA and DVI out sockets mean I can connect it to my spare TFT socket should I wish.
For anyone in the market for a cheap but decent performance PC, with nice looks, Id definitely recommend you checking this out.
