    Incorrect Postcode On Package

Hey all, I recently placed a pre-order for Ninja Gaiden with ncsx.com. Unfortunately, I supplied the wrong postcode with my order and only realised after the game had been shipped (this afternoon some time).

I'm currently at university in Wales but supplied the postcode to my home address in the West Midlands. Will the package be delivered to my home address or my university address or will it become lost in the limbo that is the British postal service?

not too sure , but i suspect that if you still have to correct address on the parcel you'll be ok. When the parcel gets to the town, the wrong postcode obviously won't match so they'll find the right one. It will end up at one location, either at home or uni.

It'll probably end up with you at university provided you gave a full enough address. It will probably get delayed somewhat though.

You'd need the house number and post code to be able to resolve to a particular building (in most cases), as a post code covers several properties. So most likely it'll end up at your uni.

It'll arrive at your home sorting office (low level destination is done purely on the opening digits of the postcode).

Once there, they'll realise its got an incorrect postcode, strike that through, and pass it to the correct sorting office where it will have to be manually processed.

It'll get to you eventually. But it'll take a few days more.

Thanks for the insight guys. I have a rather unusual last name and there are only 20 houses on the road my home post code covers, reckon Mr Postie will put 2 and 2 together and post it to my home address with all of my parents' post too?

I did the same thing yesterday and my package arrived safely this morning. They only use the postcode for the automatic sorting so you package will get sorted manually.

Yes, the package arrived at my university address and it didn't seem to take any longer than usual compared to my other EMS packages. Somebody in the postal network must have been watching over me that day!
