    Xbox DVD Playback

I'm looking for a bit of advice on DVD playback for the xbox.
I have a R2 DVD playback kit for my pal Xbox, but I was wondering whether the system is capable of playing copied Region 2 disks without needing to be chipped.

The reason I ask is that I backed up a copy of a disk the other day to test my re-writer software on my PC to a DVD R+. On attempting to try the disk in my Xbox, the drive seemed to struggle with the disk. The net result was that it wou;ldn't play the disk.

Was this to do with the fact that the disk was a copy or is it to do with the type of DVD that I used for the backup?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers for the reply. Does this mean I should not used DVD +R?

As probeater said, try Ritek's. My burner only does -R, and I've never had a problem with Ritek -R's.

My mate tried a +R on his xbox (thomsom drive), and it wouldn't recognise the film at all, on a -R it was fine.
