    White Saturn Nightmare!

    ft:
Right, can anyone help me with this -

I have a white Jap Saturn that was working absolutely fine until one day the picture blinked off. Thinking it was the lead I have hunted down various Saturn Scart leads (being told that older saturns were touchy and required a certain 'type'). I have tried everything, replacing the internal battery to buying a new TV. Today I plugged in a new S-video lead and still, sound and operation, but no damn picture!

Has anyone experienced this before? Or is my machine broken and fit for the bin?

    Help would really be appreciated!

My bloody mate swapped his cable for mine and as a result I haven't been able to play it since. ft:

dont know about you, but i've kept all my limited edition saturns tucked up safety in their box's, you can pick up a standard black saturn for ?30 to play your games on.. not very helpfull mind :P

got myself a saturn RGB cable off ebay and it worked first time with my saturns (including my white one) - only cost ?9, give it a shot.

Is this happening with all consoles you try? Are you plugging into the same SCART socket on the TV with each console you test?

I'll have a wild guess and say you have a single SCART input, yeah? If that's the case, and other machines fail to work through said socket as well, sounds to be like a dry joint in your TV's socket.

As I say, try different consoles through the same socket and see if it's the same for each. Try any other sockets you may have (composite phono, dedicated S-Video) and see if the same thing happens.

Try the machine on another TV and if you get no picture then you've probably blown an internal part.

Try turning up the brightness up a lot so the screen is grey, if you can see ghost images or no image at all then it's going to need a repair (not too hard but fiddly and costly).
