Who will fit a PS2 chip?

I want to buy a matrix chip, and have it installed. londonconsole charge ?65 for the installation of the chip, and at least ?13 to send it back. I can get the chip for ?25, so doesn't someone offer to to the mod for less than that and send it back?

Would anyone here do it?

Your choice of course, but its probably best just to pay the money and get an expert like Will to fit the mod. You get what you pay for. Your only playing with ?40 anyway so its not like you can save loads.

Yes but I'm doing this for somebody else. It will cost me at least ?78 just to install a chip to my PS2 and have it sent back.

It would be great if someone on these forums who know what they're doing, to install it and send it back for ?25-?30, even sending it standard/2nd class. I'll mail the chip to them.

?25-?30 is low, people charge that for fitting xbox chips which are much easier afaik, the PS2 chips involve a lot more wires and bastard mainboards. You might as well pay the extra to get it fitted by a pro like Will and avoid disappointment.

It's like PH says "You get what you pay for". Also, trying to skimp on the postage isnt a great idea either, if it gets lost/damaged and was sent 2nd class you'll only get ?28 back, when I'm guessing the machine originally cost your friend over a ton!

I'm not selling my services here, but ?65 is for me to supply and fit a genuine Matrix MXL2. I really, really doubt you'd get it done anywhere else any cheaper than that. If you supply the chip, I'd fit it for ?40, as I pay around ?22 for my mods. Be *very* careful buying your own Matrix though, as there are a whole load of poorly made, badly functioning clones available. You can use this link to help you out.

The problems caused by clone and fake mods is hard to overstate - that's why I refuse to fit any customer supplied chip other than genuine Matrix, Messiah or DMS3 mods.

As the other guys were saying about the postage, ?13 is about as cheap as it gets, in order for there to be any useful level of insurance and protection should anything go missing or get broken in transit.
