I So Don't Get It??

I had a computer that was running Windows 98SE. I had a couple of video files on it. One of southpark and one FFX-2. Both are AVI and both played fine.

I just bought a new Laptop with Windows XP. My friend just bought a Power Book Laptop. Both of the laptops only play the sound and not the video from these files. When I try to update it says there is no update available.

Any Ideas PLEASE!!!

hae you got the divx codec installed, thats what i needed to play a simpsons episode in .AVI format. before i installed it i was only getting sound aswell.

adding to that, get a prog called g-spot. it will tell you exactly what codec is needed for any movie.

for the mac, get a program called VLC player.

It'll play all sorts video files, especially avi. Also, it be free.
