Price differences PC - Console

Just had a browse, noticed that PC Splinter Cell 2 will be selling for a penny short of ?25 whereas all console versions are 10R more - has it always been like this?

Got me thinking - is it cos you can get lots of hassles with PC games, installing, performance, patches etc, whereas pay more and hey trouble-free console versions! lol Hmmm

Console manufacturers make most of their money from charging royalties to publishers for making games for their consoles. Since nobody 'owns' the PC architecture, PC developers don't have to pay any royalties, so PC game prices are always going to be slightly lower.
