    UT2004

    Anyone else playing this yet?

I guess its more of the same really with a (yet further) buffed up graphics engine (it looks so so sweet with everything maxed at 1600x1200) and even more maps + the well documented return of assault mode and the new onslaught mode.

Spent yesterday afternoon and this morning on it playing mainly in single player to start learning the new maps and predictably (I enjoyed the last two iterations greatly) I love it.

Its one hell of a 'complete' package. So many maps. So many game modes. Vehicles. Decent bots.

The only disappointment to me is the vehicles. They don't feel 'right' to me. I don't feel really connected to them in the way I do to, for example, the Warthog in Halo. Hopefully thats just a question of time.

The ?7.50 rebate form is in there. But they want your reciept for 2003 and your UT2003 play disc. I have the play disc but, like most I suspect, don't have the reciept. You'd have thought the disc and your code would be sufficient. Oh well. If you do happen to have both you can order it from Play and have it for a tenner. Bargainous!

If you don't get on with the UT games (they seem to be love them or loathe them affairs) then there's nothing new here to tempt you. But if you enjoy them then... well... your probably just waiting for your copy to arrive

I think they want want the receipt for ut2004 and the 2003 play disc. The problem i have is that on the form it says to have a receipt dated between March 19th and May 19th. The thing is i got this online and the date on my receipt is the 17th of March so not sure where i stand. Back to the game, its fantastic and a good return to the series after what i thought was the disappointment of 2003. Playing CTF-Faceclassic brings back a lot of happy memories of UT 1.

I've just double checked and your right! Oh ****. Now what did I do with that reciept!

I was just going to edit and add: the attention to detail on the newer maps, particularly the assault maps, is astounding. They're intricate, great to look at, huge, and very well designed.

Hee hee - I too played CTF-Faceclassic this morning. For reasons of nostaligia!

Can't play it as much as I want to unfortunately because I'm supposed to be writing my dissertation, but a quick 30 minute blast now and then is good stress relief.

              What an incredible game.
I skipped UT 2003, although I did put some serious time into UT99, so most of the game was new to me, unlike 2003 veterans.
Anyway, I was blown away. I've been playing it loads over the last few days.
It feels like the most complete game I've played in ages. I love finding the little things... like

I just had my first proper online Onslaught match. I'm currently smiling like a monkey in a banana shop.

                Heh monkeys

Great game tho. Far far far better than 2k3 feels much more solid and with assault + onslaught added it is quality!!

                  Got this one too.

Spent a decent amount of time playing online last-night, although trying to hit someone is an exercise in itself, when they're jumping about all over the place.

Geddit mate, it's the best UT thus far.

The new Assault mode is excellent.

yes this game is excellent isn't it!

I love just looking at the scenery though its a shame you never get much time to stop and stare... I'm trying to look at all the cool watery reflections on the ceilings and walls just to get a rocket in my face

Also, for once the single player is pretty good.
