how do you calibrate the logitech gamecube wheel?

sorry bout all this, i am rather dense..

got the force feedback wheel from hmv @ ?13 so far so exited

bring it back and after enduring the wifes wrath try it out

on rrevolution it seems twitchier and harder to handle than a one legged crackwhore during a marathon clucking sesh

car goes all over the shop, some potential there but not sure how to find it

on fzero gx the car doesnt seem to move at all unless you use the air brakes, and as for the calibration screen WhaT the hEll are you supposed to do there>>?

its about as clear as mud...

i got the wheel as there was much praise for it in the rre and fzero thread but so far its more a hinderance than anything else.. can anyone kindly shed some light?

In Fzero, you move the wheel away from the center until the point where you want to be the "max" and then press A. (Do the same in the other direction). For example, if you just move the wheel 90? and then press A, then during the game, 90? will become full-lock, so you don't have to turn the wheel so much. After you have set this "travel", you can then use the d-pad to set the center-point sensitivity.

I'm not quite sure what problems you are having with R:racing, because for me it's absolutely spot on, allowing me to make minor adjustments to racing line or swerve quickly if need be.

R-racing works nice with my wheel too, make sure you brake before the corners and not too late as its hard to regain control. Also try not to swerve too much, as you cant stop after a while.
Athough i have found that the wheel some times, off center's its self usally the first time i use it but you can right it and then it seems to be ok.

thank you very much for the info there guys!

will give it a try later!

btw what about the l/r flaps (ooeerr) in fzero, whats all that about>?

i hope things "click" in rre at least as that game has unexpectadly )i usually welll always despise gtoury type games) taken over my life..

You have 2 modes in F-Zero regarding the airbrakes:

GX mode is where the airbrakes control lateral shifting and you hold both to start a drift.

AX mode laterally shifts the same but you use brake to initiate a drift.

You can select mode on the options screen (button config section), GX mode is easier.

hey info from da (reputed) master!

            cheers

i meant tho, in the calibration bit when you err tweak your flaps (oooooEEErrr) whats that all about then? are you supposed to do it returning said labia to the original spot or to flex them a bit or what? the whole thing is either very vague or genius that i`m too thick to appreciate,..,

scandal! but off for some mario kart now... mario instead of rre and gx i know... but that hot twosome princess action... i`m getting all hot now!

                silly me!

after faffing around for ages and cursing the thing i tried bolting it to a coffee table rather than squeezing it obscenely with me knees or trying stupidly to play it propped on the floor with the "stand"

man this thing is amazing! it turns rrevo into a completely different game , well, almost , but it becomes 2wice as fun imho..

fzero still feels a bit weird, think i will go back to the pad for that, mario kart also feels uncontrollable with it

but for rrevo its worth it! shame burnout doesnt support the wheel tho..

I picked up one of these from HMV back in January, tested it a few times with F-Zero GX, Mario Kart and NFS:U, wasn't really impressed.

Granted, it was my first real experience with a console steering wheel controller. It just felt so unresponsive.

                      Is it just me?

Might dig it up and try R: Racing with it later though.
