Saturn and Dreamcast light gun question

I'm sure I heard something somewhere about them being region locked, is this true?

I have VC1+2 and HOTD for the Saturn and Confidential Mission+VC2(on the Smash pack) and no gun for either machine atm

So I need a gun for each machine and don't want to buy the wrong ones

Any info will be much appreciated

some US Sega DC games will not work with Sega DC lightguns (all except Virtua Cop 2 on the Smash Pack), the Sega DC guns themselves are regionless.

NTSC Confidential mission would not work with my pal gun, VC2 worked fine though

Assuming that they're Japanese versions, you'll need a (Black) Japanese gun for those Saturn games, the PAL one is no good.

Yep, they are all Japanese.

So this means any region gun will do for DC ones as VC2 on the Smash Pack will work with it, and I'll need to get a JPN black one for the Saturn ones
