    PC Engine question - help!

I have a PC Engine problem - it's the small white one and it arrived the other day. Everything is included except for the fact that I have noticed what appears to be the AV connector is just a load of copper(ish) wire. Has someone taken the connector off and how can I get this fixed?

    Any help appreciated

as far as i know, the white pc engine doesn't have an AV connector. if you're referring to the socket on the right hand side labelled 'ant switch', then this is an RF connector (in the form of a phono socket).

i'm afraid you may have a hard time playing this console on your tv, since most tv's that are able to handle ntsc via the AV sockets, are NOT able to handle ntsc via the RF/aerial socket (except for a few). the only real way to play this on your telly is to get the rgb mod done.

as for the copper wire hanging out, sounds like someones ripped the phono socket off, in theory it shouldn't be too hard to wire up another one.

Thanks mate Where can I get the mod done and does the Duo have a similar makeup as far as connectors?

An RGB mod is by far the best way of hooking up a PC Engine, go for that

There are a few other ways to do it though. The CD-Rom 2 system expansion has composite video out, and there is an NEC AV adaptor that gives composite video out. Both of these would be difficult to track down though, and the CD Rom 2 unit is usually expensive.
