    Counter-Strike kernal32.dll problem - help

ok I know this is a long shot on here but I posted this on the main Steam forums and got NO replies!!

Basically I start up Steam and manage to play CS for about 10-15 mins, then I get an error which says:

'HL caused an invalid page fault
    in module KERNAL32.DLL at
    0187:bff 714.ac.'

It says close and CS then crashes my whole PC and I have to reboot.
I have heard from somewhere the kernal32.dll file is to do with memory or something, but I'm not too good with this stuff.

    Can anyone help me?

btw my pc is pretty old, but this problem only arose after the second-to-last Steam update.

    thanks in advance

If its kernAl32.dll its a virus.

If its kernel32.dll update your video and sound drivers.
Close all tasks except the essential ones to see where the problem lies.

If you are on Win98. Get a decent OS. Best fix.

yeah thanks, I just tried it again and it said kernel so I'll try to find the video drivers for my TNT2 m64.

One thing - I've never installed video drivers before so if they screw up my PC how do I uninstall them and put the old ones back on?

Its not only my PC you see and theres some important data on here
