    First Time using Play Asia

I decided to order Metal Gear Solid (Jpn version for the GC) from them as I had funds in my paypal account.

Now I have askled them to mark it as a gift and mark the value down, do they actually do this ?

The other question is am I supposed to receive a shipping confirmation email as it says so on their website. My game has shipped according to its status but I haven't received any email telling me so.

I have searched for this on the forum but came up blank. Sorry if this has been asked before

    Thanks

Can't really answer this but can give you a kinda answer

Ordered a Famicom GBA and 3 games (GBA games). The package wasn't marked as a gift and thus was taxed. Heavily ft: .

Also, you need to fax/email them photo copies of proof of ID and the card you used. It's a royal pain but needed for their security purposes.*If it's your first order with them*

    Hope this helps

For me, they normally mark all small items down to below ?18 without even being asked. Marking it as a gift doesn't make a difference as the package is obviously not from a private address, so the ?36 limit won't come into effect.

I'm pretty sure I've always received shipping confirmation e-mails from them. Having said that, I've just noticed my latest order has shipped and I haven't (yet) had a confirmation e-mail from them.

I never had to do that.. guess it's something they've introduced recently. I got stung by customs on Donkey Konga from them, but then last week my Hori SCII stick slipped by unnoticed so it's a bit of a lottery.

Never had to send ID for anything (though I did when I started using LikSang years ago) and everything I order is marked down automatically.

Well I have just had my shipping confirmation email. Just hope it doesn't take too long to arrive and that the economy air box does actually fit through the letterbox.

The economy box is just a bit smaller than a shoe box mate.

It wont go through a letterbox mate.

                    I am gobsmacked!

I ordered some bits ($140) from Play-Asia on Wednesday evening using TNT delivery ($25) and received my parcel today (Friday).

It was $10 cheaper than EMS, and I was hesitant as I'd never been hit with tax using EMS. The parcel just arrived, so I'm assuming there won't be a customs letter to follow (fingers crossed).

Amazing, considering a couple of games from this forum were posted to me on Wednesday and they arrived today as well - yet Play-Asia's stuff was on the other side of the world!

EDIT: I emailed them immediatley after I placed my order on Wed to ask if they could mark the box down. I got a reply yesterday, but they said it was too late as it had been shipped already. So worth emailing them in advance of placing an order to make ur request!

I didn't ask for things to be marked down in value, they were marked down anyway
My Pop'n Music Best Hits was marked as a "sample" worth 12.80$ (Original price was 62$ incl P&P)

I only had duty once and mostly are marked down but the one I had duty was reduced but not enough but it have Donkey Konga, Soul Calibur 2 Stick, Gameboy player and Hori SNES Gamecube pad.

So a tip for you - Don't order too many things at the same time
