    Wireless networking help

I've currently got an iBook connected to the internet by NTL broadband, and have my desktop pc in the room above, which I need connecting to the internet.

I'm really not sure what I'd need, but basically I dont want wires trailing through the house.

If I bought a wireless router and a wireless network card for the pc, is that all I need? or would I need additional cables/airport card just to set it up?

Also, is it relatively simple to set up? I'm a little concerned as to whether the Mac and PC can be on the same network?

    Thanks for any help.

Macs and windows get along fine on networks...

they're also pretty easy to add to wireless networks too if you have airport or airport extreme

just turn it on and it'll find available wireless networks

you can then choose to join and specify a password if needed.

You'd need a wireless access point connected to a wired router or a router/access point combo.

which is better is open for debate... I personally use a seperate 3COM office connect access point with my iBook and my sister's WinXP desktop and it's perfect.
