freaky. Ive asked in two gamestations about R:Racing. One said they hadnt had the option to order any copies and didnt know there was a GC version and the other one thought it wasnt out yet and told me to look on teletext for its release date :S Glad to hear there are some copies of it somewhere though..

Today I found a virgin megastore (hastings) that had the GC boxart on a perspex display thing in their GC game section but they didnt have any copies of the game.. I really want the game but dont want to order online coz of my voucher situation..

I hate it whenever i go out with a game in mind that im looking to buy they never have it I remember having the same problem last year with Skies Of Arcadia Legends, Ikaruga and V-Rally 3 on GC (the latter was a crap waste of money btw).

Well there were, the minute I could afford it, not a single one to be found anywhere I gonna go back to last place I saw one this weekend and pray, but I don't hold up high hopes as I jus found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...category=27221, for a title thats been out barely a month, thats quite worrying.

Oh and good luck finding it online outside an auction too.

Chipsworld say they ship within 2-3 days so if I can't find it this weekend, how accurate is their site and how reliable are they?

Smeghead, if you check the Game website they are expecting some copies in at the start of May.

but for some reason they are not allowing anyone to pre-order a copy. Which is strange.

WH Smith's have it listed on their site with a delivery estimate but it doesn't tell you whether or not it is in stock.

The problem with all these games is Nintendo's making.

They have adopted a new policy of publishing a set amount of games and then distributing them to retailers. However once the retailers have ran out usually they place an order with the distributors to get more.
What Nintendo are currently doing is waiting for a set level of new orders and once they hit this threshold then they'll make some more and get them sent out.

The problem with this is if not all parts of the country sell out, just say all the shops in Manchester do but Birmingham doesn't, then Manchester will have to wait for Birmingham to place an order so the demand level is met and Nintendo will manufacture some more.

The thing to remember is that every Nintendo game is pressed by Nintendo (they got a royalty from every game) so even stuff like Harvest Moon, that has no connection to Nintendo bar the machine it's on, faces delays.

How do I know this? A word with the buying department for the shop I work in was told of this scenario a while ago. It's just been more apparent recently with several big releases in FF, MGS and Harvest Moon. All of which have had shortages.

Hasn't it always been like that though? I remember not being able to find a copy of GoldenEye for ages...

                Not really.
What used to happen was that Nintendo had already pressed X amount of games and when say one shop wanted it they could order more.
This was good for the customers but potentially bad for Nintendo. In theory they could print X amount of games that never get bought.

Now they supply to demand, which in theory is good, but it has to be a huge demand for them to reprint. This has led to many people unable to get copies of the game across the country, all because Nintendo hasn't hit the set threshold of orders to force more into production.
