Ive got an ntsc xbox, and i really want to get my hands on steel battalion along with line of contact. As you probably know its a bastard to import, i need to somehow find it at a reasonable price (the original steel battalion/w controller, I can always get line of contact separately). I was told the controller was multo-regional, so it though i could just get the PAL version but that would leave me with a useless game. I found the US version of the game here https://www.anotherworld.co.uk and its being sold for ?99.99, i cant believe that its got to be a typo or something, surely it should be double that price. But besides that, any suggestions on what i could do?

Another World have a habit of advertising stuff that isn't in stock, I'd give em a ring first.
Failing that, you could buy a UK LOC + controller kit, and if LOC isn't region free you could import the US standalone game for an extra ?30, which in total would be cheaper than importing a controller set.
US LOC is region free, so the UK one might be too.
The original game isn't region free (or at least the jpn version isn't), so you'd need a mod chip to run that.

But thanks for the imput anyway, im still unsure or what to do. I dont really want to mod my xbox but i want both games, theres definately no way im import the thing from a US shop though. I worked it out and it would cost an insane ?250 to do it that way, if not more. But if canyone can confirm that Line of contact is region free in the UK please go ahead, thanks.

THINK before you rolleyes.
Papercut,
I *thought* I had the most up-to-date one... I'll admit I haven't tried it with my current bios at all.

it may be that pressing start makes the chip think you're doing an IGR or it could be EvoX playing up if you're booting into that. If updating the bios doesn't work, turn off IGR in evoX (i prefer X2's igr to evoX's as it's quicker to reboot) and create a file on your E drive called 'x2_IGR_disabled' using notepad in windows or similar (don't add an extension, no .txt or anything, just a bare file - its included with all the bioses when you download anyway)
This tells the X2 chip to disable in game reset. When you want to enable it again, just rename the file to 'y2_IGR_disabled' or something like that
This should work if you find the bios update isn't
We have an SB controller at work but I'm not prepared to lug that thing home to try it out....

Dont quote me on this but i think that the SB in another world is the one my brother in law had for a while (over three months) and it kept crashing on his US xbox (it had a mod chip in it) they finaly had it back after having his xbox in several times and gave him a credit note for it. This could be why their selling it for ?99

nick the one in the hanley store has now been sold as i was thinking about getting it, they were selling it as brand new so i don't think it would have been that one. but the box was pritty battered so you never know. it's a **** shop so it might have been.
i can't belive they wouldn't let me trade my games for the blue s padft: just because it was american it was the same bloody price
