JOYTECH JS965 AV Control Center - Any good?

I have just purchased the Argos splitter but this looks a lot more flexible, as well as having an additional input.

Can anyone recommend (or not as the case may be)?

Bought one from Play.com this weekend and it has already shipped. Shoudl be with me in the next day or too. I'll let you know once it has beebn fully tested.

I bought it to replace my Quinttro+ as I was suffering high levels of sound distortion, have since sent that back though. Lets hope this is decent, otherwise its going back too.

I have one and it has been great.

I havent noticed any interference (I was on argos splitters before) and it is nice having a remote control (although presumably it means its not a good idea to have more than one).

You can actually connect up 4 scarts and 4 composite via this box, and it can also work as an optical splitter for upto 4 devices.

        That's the baby I've got.
Heres' the little review I wrote when I got it -

Got it this morning and here's my little review for anyone interested in buying it.

        In the box is -

        1x AV Control Centre (430x55x255mm)
        1x Remote Controller
        1x AC Adapter
        1x Scart Cable (fully wired)
        1x S-Video Cable
        1x Phono Cable (video/audio left/audio right)

        It features -

4 RGB scart inputs to 1 RGB scart output
        4 S-Video inputs to 1 S-Video output
4 phono seperates (video/audio left/right) inputs to 1 phono output
4 digital optical imputs to 1 digital optical output

Each type is totally seperate of each other (ie a scart input will not affect the phono output) so this could be used as 4 different switching units -

        A 4-1 RGB scart switcher
        A 4-1 S-Video switcher
        A 4-1 phono switcher
        A 4-1 optical switcher

I've set it up with the following devices all outputting RGB via scart -

        Digital TV box
        Dreamcast
        US N64 (RGB modded)
        Saturn

There's no loss of signal strength that I can see on any unit.

You can either press the numbered button on the remote or cycle through the inputs on the centre itself to select whatever you're watching.

I have tried the B TECH BT945 AV unit in the past but it suffered from interference on the other inputs if I had my DC turned on so I sent it back.

This unit however had no problem with the DC on, in fact I turned on all the inputs at the same time and neither interferred with the other.

Overall I have to say I'm very impressed with it, no more getting up for us lazy ones and for only ?39.99 (including leads) it's a bargin.

        Now available in silver -

Thanks to all three of you for the replies. I will wait for a few more (if there are any), but it sounds like a good buy. I can always use the Argos splitter on the other RGB input I suppose.

It's refreshing to find a forum where the first response to a question isn't "Well MY setup is this and it's the BEST because... and it's better than yours because..."

          Thank you.

Arrived today, I am very impressed.

Better than the Quinttro+ and much cheaper. The only disadvantage being you have to manually switch between the four inputs.

No loss of signal quality, no sound distortion, the option to turn it off and fits in very nicely with the rest of my equipment.

              Highly recommended.

It comes with a remote mate.

Take a close look in the box.

                  All sounds really positive.

                  Thanks again for the advice.

I have to pick up the remote and press a button.

                    That is manual to me

(the Quinttro required no user input to switch)

                      Ah, I'm with you.

I think the problem I had with the Quintro was because of this feature.

I see this on Gamezville the other day. Might have to get one in lovely silver.

Does anyone know of anywhere else online this is sold other than Play, who are now sold out?

                        Thanks.

How exactly do I hook up a receiver with this baby?
One of those 5 parts is a output section, that outputs for the 4 inputs?
Would make sense, else I wouldn't know how you'd hook it up to the tv :P
