PGR2 Contest Idea - what do you think ?

Thought I'd ask here before starting a thread in Online Gaming....
Here's how it would work;

As a lot of us keep missing each other on Live, how about a monthly PGR2 Time Trial contest, I would start a thread on the 1st of the month (or tomorrow this month if this seems a good idea).
First person to post could choose the track
Second person to post could choose the car

Then you have the rest of the month to set your fastest time, I will keep an upto date leaderboard at the start of the thread and see how things go.

Only problem I see is that lots of people won't have unlocked all tracks so we would have to be careful with track selection, other than that any opinions ? (constructive ones )

One easy, lazy alternative would be to encourage everyone to take part in the weekly or monthy hotlap races on Live. That way no-one gets accused of picking their favorite car or track, and everyone can see where they stand on the Friends Only leaderboard instantly, rather than waiting until the next post on the forum.

Alternatively, if you don't like leaving the hotlap choice to whatever Live has chosen, use the Car Challenge ones.

A bunch of us over on another forum are doing a similiar thing with the Midway Arcade Treasures games and its working pretty well.

Well i`m currently 10th on this weeks hotlap challenge if you wanna try and beat that And thats without wallriding like a few have done in the top 10. Gamertag is my username.

No link, but if you go past singleplayer and multiplayer in the screen after you've logged into your character (and XBox Live) you'll see the option for the Live challenges screen (sorry, can't remember exactly what it is called). You have hotlap and cone challenge of the week (a car is pre-chosen), Ultimate (pick any car) hotlap and cone challenge, and then a all-time ultimate hotlap for each city.
