post SNES era 2D Castlevania's? a few questions....

Ignoring GBA versions, theres a PAL Saturn Castlevania right? and a PS1 2d Castlevania game?

    Also are they any good?

    Thanks in advance.

If there's a PAL Saturn castlevania it's news to me. However it did make it PAL side on the PS1 (tho there are a few slight differences) Symphony of the Night will set u back around ?40-?80 depending whether u get standard or LE but it is definately worth the asking price There is also CastleVania Chronicles on the PS1 which will cost around a tenner if that, which is a ye olde castlevania game with a remake included (tho the differences are neglegable).

Just get the US re-release if you're just out to play the game. It's much better when played in 60Hz, and you can get a new one for $25 on eBay...

You dont know about the post SNES castlevania games?

What about the Japanese Turbo-Duo casltevania game?
            Dracula X -Chii no Rondo

The saturn and PS1 versions were a total change in direction, fantastic games, but diferent. Open map, item collection, with an RPG style to it.

Dracula X was classic SNES style gameplay, but with CD music and beefed up graphics. Looked and played amazingly.
Pricey, but the best version of the old style Castlevanias.
Multiple roputes, big bosses, multiple charatcers, anime cartoon intros and endings, great stuff.

If you have the cash, get it, and play it on a PC emulator if you cant get an actualy Turbo Dupo to play it on.

Im very surprised no one mentioned that version, it is a classic.

BEWARE: Dracula X on the turbo duo is NOTHING like DracX on the SNES, they play totally differently, and the SNES version is pants if you ask me.

            Hope that helps.

PC Engine: would be nice, but no Duo, however I do have chipped xbox with PCE emu, so thats an option.

Saturn: only have a PAL Saturn, so no go.

PS1 SotN: ill aim for a US version to play on my chipped PS2.

So Symphony of the Night to start with I think....

                      8) Its got to be CV4 for me. I have played them all, but this is the only CV game to really capture my imagination and put a smile on my face. Its probably because its so straight forward and exciting, I hate anything that has RPG elements, its gotta be arcade action all the way.
