Does the sound travel the opposite direction to the Tie Fighter for anyone else, or have I somehow got my colour coded speaker connectors the wrong way round?

There might be some sound settings that let you reverse the audio...
If not, then make sure the RCA audio cable is inserted correctly. White plug goes into white jack, red plug into red jack. If it already is plugged in correctly, the solution is simple, just reverse the two. Plug the white into the red, red into the white, and that should reverse your audio channels.
