DC on the PC

Anyone playing DC software of their PC yet?
I can't seem to find a decent enough emulator, because there isn't one yet is there...!?

Anyone know different?

No emulators are currently available for playing the Dreamcast on a PC, I'd say your looking at the end of this year before something arises.

Even then, it won't be a whole lot of use unless someone can create drivers that enable DVD drives to read the GD-ROM format.

You will be able to run backups without any trouble. Its not that hard to connect your Dreamcast to your PC and transfer the files or make your own images and mount them in Daemon Tools.

Well there has been speculation of finding ways to stop people from playing backup copys but I personally don't see how it is realisticly possible. Talk of streaming the games directly from the Dreamcast has been thrown around along with the idea of attempting to get a PC drive to read the GD-Roms. A big problem with using a PC drive to read GD-Roms is its only going to take Dameon Tools and an ISO to fool the emulator.

I doubt any emulator is going to be commercial anyway, so using back-ups wont be a problem imo.

Its a shame that originals will be hard to get running though, I have a big box of them in my loft.

I'm 99% sure there was a basic emulator around a while back. Emulated the SH4 and part of the PowerVR chip, but not accurately.

Yeah, I remember getting an emulator to run the Licensed by SEGA screen but nothing much else.

The picture on the VGA box is amazing, too. DC + DC Arcade Stick + VGA Box + Soul Calibur = why bother buying a Naomi cab?
