Tribes 1 & 2 free to download next month!

Great news.

In a campaign to raise awareness of the franchise in advance of its latest installment's arrival, Vivendi Universal Games today announced that it will soon release Starsiege: Tribes and Tribes 2 to the public for free. Both games will be available starting May 4.

For me these were the most life-consuming-play-till-3am games since Quakeworld. I don't know about T1, but T2 still has a lot of servers around. Team play doesn't get much better than this.

Aah man good memories of Tribes 2, mad chases by jetpack, great fun. The techn just wasn't quite there or so it seemed but great fun all the same. Everyone in the bomber quick... 8)

Actually bought a copy of Tribes 2 when it was out on budget for a tenner. Never did get it going as it needed so many damned patches to dload to get it to work !

Excellent, I look forward to giving Tribes 2 a shot. I remember hearing so much about it...
Though if it even remotely matches up to UT2004, I'll be delighted.
