    XP Mouse Control Problem

Our company has recently purchased 8 new laptops, all came pre installed with Windows XP Pro.

Has anyone heard of a possible strange mouse bug?

It started when users kept coming to me complaining that their machines were randomly closing programs with no error messages. I thought this was just a strange blip but then it started on my new laptop too...but I noticed that when it does happen the mouse gets taken over, flys up to the top right corner and sure enough (as if clicking) the program shuts.

What the hell could be causing this? I am certain no hackers can get on these laptops...

are you using a "plug in" mouse or the built in touchpad mouse ?

Easiest way to tell if it's a H@XX0R is if it happens offline.

What make lappy's are they btw? We have Tosh's and their touchpad is a little oversensitive.

Plug in mouse. They are HPs. The touchpads are supposedly switched off.

I have a Samsung lappy, and the built in mouse pad is a nightmare, my wife uses it all the time but I won't and plug a USB one in

Have you tried plugging the mice in via the PS2 port (or if it already is, into USB)?

It's not entirely unusual for boards to be shipped with flaky connectors which can have all manner of odd results.
