Building a supergun. Any guides/tips???

I'm thinking about building a supergun, but i'm trying to find a decent guide that shows you how to build one.

I'm looking for recommendation on a decent enclosure for it and would like some feedback from people that have built on and any problem you encountered.

Also where's the best place to buy components, maplin would be the most convenient. Would it be possible to buy all the parts from there apart from the jamma loom.

Not much help I know - but I think someone on these forums (maybe MD?) was going to build one for a forum member and produce a guide at the same time?

I built one a few months back, it was quite a bit of a learning experience

I bought pretty much everything from maplin, although these guys have jamma connectors here (under ?2 when I bought it) and quite a few of the other bits you'll require so compare prices before buying from either.

There are very few guides online and there aren't any idiot guides that will hold your hand through it, so its very much about pooling info from the guides and adding your own bits as you see fit.
I used the guide that hellbelly mentioned in conjunction with another one that I can't seem to find anymore unfortunately

The only real problem I had was setting up the RGB scart properly, which really did my head in, as I could see a crisp image but it was rolling all over the shop so games weren't playable! I got there in the end though with the help of a few kind NTSC-UKers

With regards to the enclosure, it really depends how confident you are with your cutting/drilling/soldering skills as you can make some really tiny superguns but then it can be very cramped inside, so make sure you can handle whatever you take on!

I built a compact supergun with absolutely no experience of this sort of thing.

It really isn't too hard as all you are doing in reality is joining up several connectors. If you've got the pin outs it's fairly simple.

I got all the parts except the jamma connector from Maplin. The jamma connector I got from Happ Controls Europe.
