I know games like Resident Evil Oubtreak won't be online here initially. So, if I buy a US PS2 and a US copy of the game, or other online games along with the network adapter, surely I can play online?

Certainly hope so, this is what I am in the process of doing.
Some say the NA has to be the same region, some say it doesn't matter. But the console and the game have to match, definitely.
I can't believe how much SCEE are f*&king up.. by the time the must have games are released in PAL territories everybody will be playing US copies. European online community will remain smaller than the population of Papa Westray.
