Anyone that has playe dthis...Am I missing something?

I am on the blooper open and there are a few holes where 90% of the spots you land, even though on the fariway, you cannot get the ball to go anywhere other than straight into a cliff face or upwards slope, therefore guaranteeing a +10 hole! I have tried EVERYTHING in the manual including the spot to hit the ball.

Any tips?

Don't always use the longest possible club and "play safe" - make sure the ball stops short of the "cliff".

You'll have fun on Bowser's course...

Yeh it does fall short of the cliff. Then you can't physically hit it over the cliff with ANY club! What are oyu meant to do? Backtrack? Its silly!

And then on one course if you take the right path you get a cliff you can't hit over, if you take the left you are only playing an uphill fairway but the ball will ONLY stop short in front of you rather than chipping up the hill!

Can't say I've ever had any problems getting round... examples of hole numbers here?

I'll look them up later. I believe Hole 18 is on of them.

Well I know #18 off the top of my head... did have me scratching for a couple of attempts. You have to get up most of the fairway on the initial drive, preferably (if the power and wind in your favour) on the right hand side over the water on the little sand surrounded "island". Then chip up the ball over the cliff face to the right using a low end iron. Then you can put the ball onto the green with the third shot. If you are really lucky, you can actually get the ball on the green with the second shot if the variables are in your favour.

Yeh I kind of got around most of it now. DON'T PANIC MR MANNERING!

I must admit, the only part fo the game that annoys me is the "Ball won't go anywhere - bad luck!" when stuck in certain bunkers.

is it me, or does the camera not work properly on the green? about 50% of the time when i'm putting, the camera just remains on the character while the ball goes out of shot, so i can't even tell if i've sunk it until the shot is over and the camera switches! is there any way to make sure the camera follows the ball after the shot is taken?

It's a minor "bug" with the US version. Apparently it was fixed for the Japanese version and should be part of the PAL version.

anyone know if the jap version has an english text option? and did they get rid of those awful voice overs like 'nice on!'?

No English text in the JP version, but the voices are all still the same - "Nice shot!" etc

It's true about the camera as well. One of the first things I noticed was how much better it was in the JP version.
