The 10 essential Dreamcast games I need

yes, I know that there is a similar thread around, but I'm buying those of the Unlight's chipped DC off him and want 10 games to start my collection off with. At the moment I have Crazy Taxi, Ikaruga and Cosmic Smash, what other 7 should I go after and why?

Right then so far I need to get

    Ikaruga
    crazy Taxi
    Cosmic Smash
    Psyvariar 2
    Soul Calibur

    Powerstone - insanely good multiplayer
Samba de amigo - as above (useless without maracas)
Soul Caliber - cos when you finish a session on it, youll find a quiet corner, curl up into a ball, and question why (on these shores at least) the DC died way before its time

        (sorry about only 3)

        Psyvariar 2
Soul Calibur (As above - the game must be supernatural....)
        Streetfighter 3 3rd Strike

These should be passed to kids at birth I swear!

To be honest, go to www.play-asia.com and buy some of the cheapy games.

I bought Daytona, Soul Calibur, F355, Space Channel 5, and many, many more for all less than ?5 each from there.

Zero Gunner 2 (helicopter 2D/3D vertical shooter with a 'twist')
Guilty Gear X (most visually dazzling 2D beat'em up on DC)

... and definitely Soul Calibur and Ikaruga of course.

Mars Matrix, great shooter with a nice combo system. You can also unlock strategy videos.

Shadowman, always enjoyed this underated game. There is some padding(back tracking, wondering) but you can pick it for for a couple of quid well worth it.

Jet Set Radio and Skies of Arcadia. You can't be without them, they are seminal gaming masterpieces.

Let you off then! Although if you see it cheap anywhere you should pick up; it looks dazzling through VGA, and the sound on the Cube version mangles what is a glorious soundtrack ft:

                            Erm...
Youve never owned a DC until now? I am shocked good sir.
<-- obligatory smiley highlighting just how shocked I am.

Bangai-O = truly sublime 2D shooter, by treasure, and a genuine work of surreal art. Dali would be proud.

Toy Commander = Remember the fun of micro machines? Now imagine it in 3D, with multpile vehicles, combat, adventure and a whole lotta other good stuff. Seriously underrated, a classic in my books. Cannot recomend it enough.

Im not going to list a whole load of games, since theres so many, and it probably holds more gravitas only mentioning those 2.
Get them, play them until your eyes bleed, then thank me later.

Got to agree with Hankwangford. You need to have both Jet Set Radio and Skies of Arcadia. Plus if you like 3D platformers Rayman 2 is a must.

As regards SoA the GC version is the more complete game due to the addition of Moonfish, Wanted Battles and Piastol. However the music is slightly inferior to the DC version as it sounds 'tinny' in places. The DC version also looks stunning through VGA. Keep in mind that the PAL version doesn't do VGA and the USA version doesn't do RGB.
