    pacman vs pal ntsc cube and freeloader

    Hi All,

    Managed to borrow a copy of pacman vs
    have a Jap switched cube
    component out
    Freeloader 106b

    i cannot fo rthe life of me get it to boot just gets a black screen
    checked the freeloader compatibility website and it supposed to work

    any idea what i'm doing wrong?

    even tried with the compo****e cable and still nothing just a black screen

    any ideas appriciated

    Have you done the "press Z and select region" option? I've found I've quite often had to do that to get Pacman Vs and Wario Ware (US and Japanese versions respectively) to run properly on a PAL Cube.

      yep tried the select region option

      also the put the disk in and load it option
      also open lid and then load game option

      tried all three with holding B down as well


      and still nothing

        This is just an idea, but since at least one GBA is required for Pac Man vs, maybe you have to have one plugged in for the game to even boot?

        I imagine it's more likely the game would say "Hey, you need a GBA!" rather than present an unhelpful balck screen, but as I said - just an idea.

          not to worry
          seibu i had a gba plugged in and switched on

          but luckily i used games 10 day rental, er i mean money back policy so no harm done will order from vg+

            You'll find far more PAL games not working on NTSC machines than the other way around with Freeloader. Just seems to be the way... hold on, that's a point, did you think about booting in 60Hz mode?

              ^ 50hz would still give a B&W signal...

              there's another version of freeloader 1.06B (not b) that resolved a few of the PAL on NTSC issues but Mayhem's right - NTSC on PAL seems to work much better than the other way around.

              the action replay (with freeloader code) is supposed to be at version 1.07 now. don't know if it'll help any though...

                took the thing back and ordered it from vg+ not like im desperate to play pacman it'll be here in a few days..
