calibrating the dreamcast gun proving to be a problem

i'm havimng problems in calibrating my dreamcast gun on hotd2 it will shoot the first target but refuse to shoot the secound target unless i point the gun at the other end of the the screen to the aim is completely out making the gamer nearly unplayable with my gun. i'm using a 14 inch tv the game itself is scratched quite a bit

I had problems calibrating my gun on some TVs unless the contrast/brightness were turned up pretty high. Try that.

have you tried calibrating the gun under options?

also make sure there are no bright lights near the gun, or try turning them off.
