PS2 save game compatibility?

I recently bought the first part of the .hack series (PAL) and loved it. I've decided to obtain the rest on US import (mainly because I don't want to wait ) and I was wondering if my save game for the PAL version will work with the NTSC version?

I did a search this now but the closest thing I found was for the Xbox. I apologise if this question's already been asked before (I'm new ).

That's a shame...looks like I'm going to lose everything from the first part of .hack then. Damn....
